The Kochilari beach is another northern beach in Kefalos that attracts a lot of wind lovers and namely kiters. There is a station there and you can learn how to kite if you wish to do so. It can be reached by taking the road north just before arriving at the Kefalos Bay. It is a very long sandy beach stretching for miles. The western part of the beach is cut off from the kiters and is solely dedicated to bathing, so even though you might not be an avid kiter you could find your place on this somewhat more quiet beach, if you don’t mind the waves. During the summer season winds mainly blow from the north so there are quite a lot of waves and as the water deepens very slowly, the shallow seas tend to be frothy and a challenging, fun environment for kiters who enjoy wave riding. The land around Kochilari is mostly government owned so the whole beach has remained in its natural untamed wild state. There are still a lot of dunes for you to wander around. There are sun beds and umbrellas available as well as a shower for those who would require any of those facilities.
