The island of Kos is full of Hills and Mountains of different sizes with amazing views of the surrounding areas. Climbing up a mountain or a hill is usually quite rewarding as you get a different perspective on things, a more global view of the island, and who knows, in many cases you might also spot something you might like to check out. On clear days you get to admire splendid views of many of the surrounding islands and in the absence of haze (that would be mostly during the winter) you might even get a glimpse of Rhodes in the distance. My experience has shown that it is well worth making the effort to climb up some of the remotest and at first sight unwelcoming hills. I have included some Churches in the list because in many cases orthodox Churches tend to be built in remote places which happen to have the best vantage points, exceptional blissful panoramic views of nature that make the visitor feel welcome and at ease.
I have made this list of the best vantage points based on my experience. It is definitely not an exhaustive list and I am open to suggestions. Please feel free to comment… or to suggest some other places..
