It is a booming little village just outside Kos Town where a great numbers of the inhabitants of Asfendiou have resettled. It has been growing quite steadily during the past years as a lot of the people employed in Kos Town tend to prefer the modern facilities that Zipari has to offer. The parish church of the Analipsis tou Sotiros (Ascension of the Savior) is the main landmark of the village. The ruins of the early Christian basilicas of Agios Pavlos (Saint Paul) and of Kapamas were found in the region of Zipari.
