🌅 Exploring the Trail to Grafiotisa on Pserimos 🌅
The little trail leading to Grafiotisa can be a bit tricky to find, but it’s worth the effort! It begins on the left side of Pserimos harbor as you come in. If you’re unsure, just ask around – the locals are always happy to help you find your way.
🏞️ The Journey:
The views along this trail are truly breathtaking. Overlooking the harbor, you’re treated to stunning panoramas, and once you crest the first cliff, you’ll be greeted by an arid yet mesmerizing landscape. The shoreline is exquisite, offering glimpses of Kos, Kalymnos, and a full view of Platy Island.
🌄 Why I Chose the Way Back:
For this post, I captured the journey back from Grafiotisa to the harbor in the late afternoon. With the sun behind me, the lighting was perfect for taking more compelling photos, highlighting the beauty of the trail and its surroundings.
🪨 A Historic Path:
Part of the trail is paved with relatively old stones, reminiscent of the Italian pathway connecting Pothia to Vathi on the island of Kalymnos. It adds a touch of history to the adventure and makes the journey even more intriguing.
🌵 Tips for the Trek:
The landscape is dominated by small dry bushes, with only a few scattered trees offering minimal shade. If you plan to hike during the day, the sun can make the walk quite challenging. Be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and enjoy this beautiful trek comfortably.
