As you take the road south from Kefalos you will come to a spring on you right, just before the crossroad for Aghios Theologos/ Aghios Ioannis. Just opposite this spring where you can park your vehicle, lies the entrance to the remains of the old Palatia theater which dates back to Hellenistic times. In ancient times and up to 366 B.C. the city of Palatia which used to cover the area around the theater and probably stretched right down to the Kamari Beach, used to be the capital of the island.
